This inspiration for this Silk Artwork was painter Sebastian Stoskopff's Still-Life of Glasses in a Basket. The craftsmanship of both the original artist and our grand master silk artists is evident in this piece. The ability to create transparent glass and give it depth and dimension is utterly jaw-dropping. Sebastian Stoskopff was born in 17th century Alsace-Lorraine and was one of the most important German still-life painters of the time. Due to the political complications of the time, Stoskopff settled in Paris and became quite famous and died a wealthy man. There were rumors that a local pub owner and his wife murdered Stoskopff after a failed extortion scheme.
