Customer Comments and Our Story
This inspiration for this Silk Artwork was a painting of the same name by Austrian Art Nouveau painter, Gustav Klimt. In 1904, a wealthy Belgian industrialist named Adolphe Stocklet, built a new estate in Brussels and commissioned Klimt to create a frieze in the dining room. Called The New Cycle of Life, The Stocklet Frieze has three parts, two of which Expectation and Fulfillment were executed by Klimt in Vienna and are made from marble, gold leaf, silver and semiprecious stones.
